Another cold but bright and sunny day but with a fairly mean northly wind. This event is an undulating course over what is actaully Heathland, in spite of the name not many trees so not much shelter from the wind but plenty of good quality mud. Everyone seemed to go for the optional extra 1 mile to make it a 6 mile course, why not get your monies worth.

Winter arrived for this one with snow on the ground for a scenic backdrop for the days photos. Personally I wore as much clothes as possible but there were still the hardy few running in shorts and vest. The cake at the end was most welcome, mind hot soup would have been good at the end.

Plenty of weather for this one, fog, rain and wind, good thing was the wind was behind us coming back up the hill. I have always thought of this as one of the not so muddy courses being on chalkland which is freer draining thas the weald clay courses, but today there was some pretty good quality mud on this one.
Team: First Lewes AC, Second Hailsham Harriers, Third Heathfield/Uckfield.
Men: First Scott Richardson (Wadhurst Runners), Second Josh Burgess (Lewes AC), Third Daniel Stidder (Eastbourne Rovers)
Ladies: First Issy Coomber (Lewes AC), Second Sue Fry (Hailsham Harriers), Third Fiona Demauny (Hailsham Harriers)

There are a couple of changes this year:
1) for veterens there are now 5 year categories (awards for first 3 in each category) rather than 10 year. For ladies from 35 and for men from 40. Addtional categories have been added of ladied over 65 and Men over 70 to reflect the greater interest in runners in these cateogories. As with seniors this is based on the best 4 events
2) for juniors each race will have a 1 lap 1 to 1.25 mile event for U11 and U13 whilst U15 and U17 will run 2 laps. As in last year awards will be given for each age bracket boys and girls based on best 4 events.
We also have a new course this year Heathfield Park. Please see events tab for full listing of the 6 events.
